Welcome to my little corner of the beach in Southern California. I am married to one amazing man who loves me with a heart of Christ and who has blessed me to be a stay-at-home homeschool mom of three wonderful blessings. My heart is for homeschool ministry and helping others through encouragement. I've been homeschooling since the beginning and love it more and more every day.

I began my journey in homeschooling based on Bible scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapter 6:6-12 Homeschooling With Encouragement is dedicated to encourage the homeschool mom. I am the owner of a Yahoo group, monthly newsletter, two homeschool blogs, and the Weblink Education website.

She's Growing Up!

It wont be long before my baby girl turns two.  In fact, next month is her birthday.  I can't believe how fast the time is flying.  Why is it that when you have a baby it seems like you can't wait until the baby is old enough to sleep through the night; then when the baby can eat on it's own; then to be potty trained...  Wow!  All those fantastic things that make a little baby a little functioning person.  Soon my baby girl will be all grown up!  To tell you the truth, I'm learning to treasure these milestones in her life - she's my last baby.

This week marks another milestone.  My little girl learned how to pray on her own!  Yes, we have been teaching her how to hold hands, bow her head, close her eyes and pray.  Coaching her through each word carefully, she amazed us.  Last night for dinner we all grabbed hands and before you knew it...  you hear this soft little voice "Daddy, mommy, brother, food, Jesus, amen!".  It took all of by surprise.  No one expected her to take the lead at dinner and coach us through prayer. It is amazing to see God move in such a little person.  Her brothers were so touched by the mention of their names and the soft voice that spoke to Jesus.  Although there wasn't any "Thank you's" or "In Jesus name" mentioned in her prayer, we all knew her heart.

Isn't it something that the Lord knows our hearts like that, too?  When we don't have the words to say or the right sentences to put our thoughts into, He still knows our hearts. It was a wonderful milestone to witness as a family.  It made us *smile*

I remember a year ago you were planning her first birthday with a cast on your foot! And now she's almost two - wow! How delightful to see her growing up and learning to trust the Lord in prayer.

I agree that childhood is so temporary. I have had moments when I think I should go back to work to help support our family. Then I look around and see that God does provide and if I go back, I'm going to miss out on so much. My oldest will be 11 this weekend and I cannot believe it. I keep saying that she is growing up right before my eyes.
Savoring those milestones is so important.

With every milestone it seems that we missed so much time. I am enjoying Baby Bear being a baby. Even though she is growing faster by the day. I thought she was my last and this little one growing in me IS going to be our last as we can't handle the possible complications if we were to have any more. So I will be savoring all those milestones as you are w/ your little one even more.
You asked how we are? We are hanging in. I am having ligament and adhesion pains, due the weakness in my ligaments from prior c-sections. I am having issues w/ my bladder due to the adhesions (scars) We find out what this little one will be Thursday. We will also get a better idea about the Placenta Priva but will not get the Dr. report on that until Monday. I will post an update on both the sex and the PP soon on my blog. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers. I enjoy reading how your family is going too!

How sweet! My baby girl will be three next month. It is bittersweet. I am so enjoying her as she grows, but I am also missing not having another baby.

I don't know how I missed this post. That is so awesome. I remember when my son was that little and teaching him how to pray. There is something so touching to hear their heart felt prayers. Be sure and come by my blog and see what son was up to today. It will crack you up.

Isn't that the sweetest thing? It's so amazing to watch God work through our children. She is your little twin! So cute!
