Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Pot Pourri
Posted in Mom Things
Being Friday, I wasn't sure what to write about. There's so much going on at the end of the school year, and I sort of get a little less focused by mid April. So, here's what I thought to include today:
Thursday morning, Dashingly Handsome took the boys to their testing in the morning. When I picked them up, I got the lowdown on their brief car ride. Apparently, they saw some sort of mammaly-rodent animal while leaving our subdivision.
Habanero: We saw something this morning, Mom!
Me: Oh, what did you see?
Habanero: Bell Pepper said it was a muskrat. He said it couldn't be a beaver.
Me: Oh.
Bell Pepper: Yes, Mom. We saw a muskrat. I knew it couldn't be a beaver because there is no river or lake available. The water retention pond isn't big enough for beavers. It looked like a big, brown rat, so I was pretty sure it was a muskrat.
Me: Where did you learn about muskrats?
Habanero: Mom, I didn't know anything. You didn't teach us. Bell Pepper taught himself!
(Score one for the homeschooling teacher or student?)
Me: So, you saw a muskrat.
Bell Pepper: Yes. We saw a muskrat, randomly beside the road in the field.
Me: Randomly. Hmmmm.
Many of you know what we all look forward to this time of year: the BOOK SALES!
This weekend promises deals in several locations, and now I pray it is useful and beneficial. I have to pray. I have only a small amount of birthday money left, and this is the only way I buy anything right now. I always have doubts as to whether I'll find anything I need in my price range, but a girl can pray and hope, right? (Please pray for us as we prepare for next year...this is big for us to commit to every year.)
On another much more embarrassing note, I was working on my first yard projects of the year. (Apparently, spring is nearly here!) I don't have any plants to put in the beds I cut yesterday, but God always provides free things at some point, so this was a "faith" dig, I guess. So, I was out there with my shovel and hoe, cleaning out an area I want to claim for beautiful things...and, hopefully, a secret garden just for ME!
Have you ever had one of those cartoon moments in life that you just can't believe happened?
Yeah, it wasn't pretty. I was hustling from one point of my project to another, forgetting where I'd laid my tools. (Yes, I put them on the ground.)
*BAM*
Hoe handle in the eye/cheek bone area. Thankfully, my glasses protected me from something worse than what I got. And, they didn't break! (Yay, God!)
Those little cartoon birds aren't real, but the stars ARE, in my opinion.
I sure hope my neighbor wasn't looking out her back window at that point. :'P
Have a blessed weekend, everyone!
