Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

A Poem For My Daddy

Posted in God Things
This little poem was "unearthed" in my computer files. I've loved this poem for a long time. I hope you are blessed by it.

Daddy...Daddy...

Daddy....Daddy....I have something to show You.
It's not much at all,
A finger paint drawing of my life on the wall.
Here it is....see what I made?
I thought so hard when I picked every shade.

I chose blue...You like that, too?
I chose green...it's so serene.
I chose gold...it's shiny and bold.

As You see, it's all about me.

Can you see what I made?
Do You see it all, too?
Let me tell You all about it...
Then You'll see what I made when I drew without you.
There's a boy and a dog and fishing stream, too.
I'm in the middle, but I forgot to draw You.

Daddy...Daddy...I have something to ask You.
The words seem so small.
Will You draw a picture of my life on the wall?
Here I am...draw what You like!
I'll wait to see just how You see my life!

You choose blue...I like that, too!
You choose green...is this a scene?
You choose brown...a cross near a town!
You choose red...is that how He bled?

Now, I see...it's all about me...and it's not about me...

I see what You made.
Am I seeing it, true?
Please tell me about it...
Then I'll see what You made when You drew about me.
There's a cross and a man, and He's dying for me.
He's in the middle, and in the crowd I see me.

Daddy...Daddy...I have something to tell You.
A few words to say...
When we draw tomorrow, let's draw Your way!

~ Jennifer J.

It's a wee bit clumsy in the parts, but this poem seems to communicate much of my heart and a good deal of my life with Him at times.

Be blessed today, friends!
P.S. Thanks to those of you who voted in the contest. I am thankful and blessed!

Hi :) They should still be salvageable! We planted 4 to a pot and they are okay but if you have more than that you could pinch off some of the smaller stunted ones if there are some to free up some nutrients for the others. I would transplant them into a larger pot right away. It's to cold for ours to go outside yet to and so they are on my dining room table in front of the window waiting for warmer days *grin* When you pull them out of the pot they are in now, if the roots are really tight and wrapped up lots you can very gently pull at the soil a little to break it up a little and loosen the roots, then transplant them deeply into the new pot so that you have buried at least half of the height of their stems and give them a good drink. If they are wilting when they go out then it's probably to cold unless you have some sort of greenhouse to put them in or plastic milk jugs on top might work to if they fit. On a nice sunny day put them out while the sun reaches them to keep them warm and then pull them in in the evening again. Doing this every day until it is warm enough will harden them off for staying outdoors permanently to :) Hope that helps and that they will be okay! Let me know how it goes :)
