Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Monday's Meanderings
Posted in Mom Things
I hope the person who hosts the "Meanderings" doesn't mind me borrowing the title for my entry. I'm lacking a little creativity at the moment. This is probably as good as it gets for a Monday. ;')
The first thing I wanted to share was a big thank you to the friends who supported me in prayer this weekend. How can I communicate what it means to mean to know my friends from the Blogger Universe have prayed for me? All I can say is a thank you that sounds so meager. I'll say it again so you know how much this means to me, "Thank you, friends!" It felt a little like a battle being won by friends holding me up in prayer.
It was a chaotic weekend. Saturday's rehearsal and service was a lot of fun. Sunday began early and ended as an all-out sacrifice consumed on the altar, if you know what I mean. What a privilege to serve! What a blessing to be so dependent upon God that every moment was a continual dialog with Him about each breath and note. *Ahhhhhh.* And, now I rest.
We did head off to our youth ministry's Mexican Dinner fund raiser last night. It was good food, but the more authentic the Mexican food, the more likely I'll be to munch on Tums later. ;') (Even better when there is actually Tums in the house!) *giggle* I survived. ;')
My Hero has a day off today. He's taken Habanero off to run some errands, since he's not pressed for getting anything done. Little Habanero took the bull by the horns, and he's finished Math, Language, and Phonics. He's left to reading to me a little each day, and we'll finish Botany together. That's it. (And there was much rejoicing!)
Bell Pepper is still slogging through some things. I need to help him strengthen his heart toward the work that's left, so I'll be busy with that over the next few days. We need to roll off some subjects for him pretty quickly.
Lastly, I've been given the opportunity to informally edit a book. I'll be reading it as quickly as possible for the turnaround time we need, and then maybe you'll see my name in the beginning of it. ;') I'll be famous. (Not!) It's okay. I guess I am becoming known as some sort of Grammar Curmudgeon. *hee hee* Shouldn't every editor be known for that? ;')
Ahhhh, it's a busy week!
For those of you who were curious, I am now almost fully recovered from the muscle strains in my tongue and throat. I no longer cringe at the following:
*Ahhhhhhhh!*
*Hahahahahahahahahahaha*
Math (At least, I don't cringe at saying the word!)
I'm sure you would love to hear something interesting in my life today, so I will share a little Habanero with you for your reading pleasure.
Habanero: Mom, are you mostly German?
Me: Well, yes. My father's family was German.
Habanero: German and what else?
Me: My mom's family was mostly English.
Habanero: So, your mom taught you English, and your dad taught you German?
Me: Not exactly. I didn't learn German. My dad's family all spoke German, though.
Habanero: You can be German, but not speak German? You mean, you're not going to teach me German?
Me: Where your family comes from is generally what you "call" yourself. Learning the language depends on what your family decides to do with the language. My parents didn't teach me anything except English.
Habanero: So, you don't speak Spanish either? How are you going to teach me Spanish?
*sigh*
I think this is going to be a long Monday! And, I think the little guy has a point! *lol*

We're also seeking to finish up subjects around here. The schools get out this week, and my boys don't seem to understand why they aren't too. I tell them when they're finished depends on how hard they're willing to work. They don't like that too much. 8)
Take care!
