Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Going Green. . .Garden Style!
Posted in Mom Things
I went through a phase several years ago during which I had lots of time and energy. In my case, that means I was ready to become a quick study on something and work really hard at it (for a time). My subject of focus was plants. It began with house plants, and then it graduated to outdoor gardens. Sadly, my best gardens were left at my first house. When we moved to this one, I had one son and the second was born nine days after moving in. Knowing my kids are Bell Pepper and Habanero, you can imagine that fun hobbies might have been put on the back burner for a while.
So, I've finally gotten a bit more time here and there. Habanero is more likely to help in the work than to distract me from it (most of the time). For the last few days I've been able to sink time, energy, and new free plants into my beds. :'D
I mentioned I wanted to have a little secret garden in this area that hasn't been claimed since the day we moved in seven years ago. Well, I'm working on it. It's nowhere close to done, but it's in process. There is still a pile of mostly organic stuff to be removed or turned into the soil. I still need landscape fabric and mulch and such to put back there. I haven't even found my cute free statues. . .yet. ;')
Here are a few phone pictures of my "Boy Free Zone" that I've been working on. It's so peaceful back there! :'D
Going in. . .

The walkway to my secret garden. . .

Right and left back corners. . .
(Please excuse the bin full of "junk" there.)
Still panning around to the left. . .

Still panning around to the left. . .

And, this is looking back out the walkway.

It's very empty as far as plants are concerned. I used chunks of my own hosta. I pulled a serendipitous bleeding heart for the walkway. Yesterday I transplanted some giveaway shade plants from a Free-Cycler. What a blessing! It's so far from being done, but you have to know how quiet it can be. If my kids or the neighbors aren't outside in a crazy kind of way, all I can hear is the breeze in the tree branches overhead. It's FABULOUS!
