Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Pot Pourri

Well, I'm not sure what to say about what, so I thought I would just jot down some thoughts.

I was just noticing in the last couple of weeks how much more interactive my boys have become. No, I'm not referring to the physical interactive. That's been happening since the day their feet hit the ground. This is intellectual and conversational interaction. Boys do that, apparently. Who knew? I can't think of specifics right now, but my husband and I are thoroughly enjoying eavesdropping on the boys' conversations lately. Sometimes they are really funny. I'll work on getting a sample or example or something. I think you all would enjoy it, too. They are just "raw funny" in a boy sense.

Another little snippet of reality in my world is the news that my Hero has decided to accept one of the two positions offered at our own home church. I won't say I wasn't relishing the thought of a big, God-sized adventure. I was. We are blessed to stay right where we are, right? More on that in the days to come. One blessing may be that this is a Monday-Friday position, and we haven't had one of those for a while.  ;')

In other news, some of you were praying for our skinny dog some time ago. For months we have been changing foods and going as much of the distance as we can for this big lug. We knew that we were going on vacation, and that's exactly what threw him into a tizzy the last time. Well, our blessing with this goofy boy is twofold: the food that works for him is CHEAP and he was totally great while I was gone. (This does not excuse the vocal behavior of his friends, Brin and Jack, but all was well.)

Lastly, some of you are aware of my 'tiel saga. She's a lovely bird. She is now currently in another home! My allergies should improve over the next days while we clean the house from top to bottom! (Insert happy dance here.)

God is good. He has given us His favor in His sight and in the sight of men . . . even those who love loud, pretty birds. *sigh of relief*

I'll be back with something better next time. I promise. I just KNOW there is a "Did You Know. . ." entry just waitin' to happen!  :'D

Hi Jen, There is a lot of good news in this post. Perhaps the adventure is in the future. And at least you don't have to move away from your lovely shade garden, just when you are getting it started.

Congratulations! It's nice when God pulls back the curtain and lets you know how things are going to turn out (for now anyway). I'm sorry you won't get the kind of adventure you're hoping for, but maybe you will, just in a different way.

I hope things keep going in the right direction.

With the new job, it could be that an unexpected adventure is about to begin. God does have a sense of humor... =D

My allergies are rather funny to me. I didn't really know of anything allergy-wise until my late twenties. That's when I found out I am allergic to:

*Beagles (not all dogs, but beagles for sure.)
*Birds (not all birds, but the parrot family makes more dust?)
*Biaxin (I don't know how it's spelled, but that's a bad drug for me.)

Perhaps I'm really only allergic to the letter B????
