Mom and baby are doing fine! Baby

I was really hoping baby wouldn’t be born on April 1.  What an Easter blessing!

Keep an eye on my blog.  I will announce a Light contest in the coming days.  The prize will be a signed copy of Light plus something else that your kids will really like (I hope I can stop playing with it long enough to send it away!).  BONUS–If I have 100 or more entries when I kick off the contest, I will give away two prize packages (total retail value $20.00) to two lucky winners.

As if that weren’t enough good news, I just found out something that moved me to tears of gratitude. This new book is about Johnny Rankin and the Reverend John Rankin family, how they aided the real runaway slave Eliza of Uncle Tom’s Cabin– twice.  The Rankin family knew Harriet Beecher Stowe and told her about Eliza’s dangerous escape over the icy Ohio River; she agreed to keep their role in the rescue a secret.  There’s even more to Eliza’s story than Stowe knew, and that’s what I share with you in The LIght Across the River.

Well, I was reading Reviews by Heidi’s blog (I won a book!).  The guest author told how you could enter your birth month and date in Wikipedia’s search feature and get a list of important events that occurred on your birthday.  She then entered yesterday’s date (my book baby’s birthday).  Can you believe this is what it said?

  March 20, 1852 – Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin is published.

Congrats! That is wonderful news! You have every right to be very proud of yourself.

I know I need to get a book published, but it's one of those mountains I just seem to avoid.

Let me be the first to congratulate you, Stef! What a labor and delivery, eh? And I love the new "baby photos" on the sidebar. Hmmm…GodTube not YouTube. Do you like hosting with them better than with YouTube? Just curious. Personally, I've found the Homeschool Lounge does the nicest hosting job of videos. I re-hosted my book 2 and my WW book and the graphics somehow are nicer.

Anyway, I did another YouTube. This time it's for my DD's baby's dedication. If you can sit through 4 minutes of "song a pics" go to her blog: Kristel's cupcakes. It's on the S&T.
