Fun in the Son

Aloha!

Home~We all slept in this morning, after getting in around midnight last night. The kids and I sat for a long while chatting, talking about our week and just enjoying each other. Like I said before, Mike and I weren’t the only ones on vacation. My mom kept them wrapped in good times. The hugs and the gentle touches to make sure we are really here choke me up every time.

I’m completely refreshed. And I’m fairly confident Mike would say the same.

If you care to know, here are our

15th Anniversary trip to Kauai ~ highlight’s:

*Early morning breakfasts of all things Hawaiian or Kauaian grown/made, on the lanai (balcony).

Taro bagels with pineapple/mango jam, Kona coffee, passion fruit tea, goat cheese flavored with fresh herbs on toasted, french bread, tangerines & bananas.

(Yes, early. The man wakes up naturally at 5:30AM, CA time. HI is two hours behind us, but the time change the night before we left, made it feel like only one our. Lucky for me, or he would have been waking up at 3:30 AM!)

*Sweet, refreshing morning times with the Lord. Reading: Desiring God by John Piper

*Cruising around the island, radio cranked in a white mustang convertible.

* Reading on the beach with our rented gear – package deal: 2 chairs, ice chest & umbrella

*Long talks about the books we are reading, our kids: their different needs and personalities, and sports.

*Mike snorkeling and me bucking up and getting out there ~ once.

*Running

*Watching the sea turtles ride the waves

*Getting take out from The Fish Market in Old Town Koala and eating it on the beach: Marinated Ahi tuna with teriyaki or wasabi sauce, white rice & shrimp cocktail.

(Fish Market is to Kauai as Taco Truck is to my town. Are you with me?)

*Dinner at Keokis Paradise, listening to live music, ordering 3 different seafood dishes to split, drinking Mia Tai’s and Blue Hawaiian’s. I must learn to cook like this!

to be continued .........

It's intoxicating ......

Celebrating 15 years of marriage on the Garden Island,

and my man turned an awesome 38 yesterday.

and there is something even sweeter when this all happens after a crazy, busy walnut harvest.

The kids are being well taken care of by my incredible mother and thinking they are on vacation too.

Mahalo Mom!

Aloha my friends!
