We are excited to have a little girl, Jenna, in our home while her parents work. She is 3. It has been a long time since we had a child that young (and a girl!) here. We have had my nephews for so long. We are excited!
We met her for the first time this evening. As soon as she walked in, she took right to me, Skye and Zowie. She hung out with the girls while I talked with her parents, and she was very well behaved.
The funny part is that, when I was a young teenager, I used to babysit Jennas' mom. I asked Mindy when she came in if her mothers' name was Muriel and she said yes. I said "No kidding! I used to babysit you and your sister!" This was exciting for us, and when she found out that her mother and my mother had been friends for years, she was a lot more comfortable with Jenna being here. This will be the first time that Jenna has been cared for by someone who is not a member of the family.
Anyway, we are excited. They are excited. And we will still have a home when spring rolls around again from the income. All is good. My nephews are only here part time during the school year, so we were hoping to bring in another child to make up some of the difference.
