Apr. 2, 2008 - The Lord is good!

May. 28, 2007 -
Last friday (May 25th) was my 11th spiritual birthday. Praise the Lord He found something in me that He thought was worth saving, cause I sure can't find what He sees in me! Isn't the Lord's persistence amazing? I mean, I know the fight I can put up sometimes, I gave God plenty of reasons to just give up on me and say "You know what? Fine, you don't want to serve me? I'll choose someone else who does." But I am so glad He didn't give up and the Holy spirit just kept by me, day after day until I finally surrendered to the Lord. Isn't he amazing?
When is y'alls spritual birthdays?
Ok, a "quick" update on what I've been doing these past few months that I've been vacant from HSB. As I mentioned in my last post, I got accepted into the local community college which will help me reach my goal of (Lord willing) earning my Bachelors of Arts in Music in the May of 2009. We have finally got settled into a local church and we really enjoy it there. :-) www.timberlinebaptist.org |

I know I haven't updated in like forever! But life is really busy and although I am on the computer a lot now, I don't have time to update my blog, sry! I will try to keep it up but ya never know. I am busy writing a lot, studying and e-mailing some important stuff to friends. Also I just finished a 5 day long course in economics. Oh what fun! not... I am so tired right now. But I took the final this morning and I jsut hope I passed. I took the class with 7 other people and let me say, some of them were characters! This one guy I swear he disagrees with me before I finish my thought! Oh well, it was all in good fun. I had a lot of fun in between lectures and actually I don't mind learning about ti but goverment was more fun (as one of the guys put it "Its a whole bunch more fun to argue about how corrupt our goverment is!") Anyway, I learned some neat quotes also, like "If guns are outlawed than only outlaws will carry guns" - that ones for you sterling! hehe! Well I am off to watch a movie. Catch y'all later!!! |

Hey guys! yes I am back!!!!!!!!! I don't have long to update because my little sis wants ont he computer but let me tell you, that trip up there was amazing and I will always remember it and it well..... was so awesome! We went of to pennsylvania for a week and then to vermont for a week and met people we are going to stay in contact with in both places! I met this girl, lisa, in PA who is beachy amish (if you don't know what that is, don't ask, it takes too long to explain, look it up) and we "clicked". I spent wednesday at her house and then went to their youth bible discussion that night. It was w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!!! I will post more details later. Anyway, then in VT we met this family who was great and the mom was fantastic! Another one of those people I just "clicked" with. For several reasons I think we are going to stay in contact with them. Anyway, Lydia is really mad at me now for staying on. I will update with more details later and I will also comment on y'alls blogs then too. C ya guys! |

May. 23, 2006 - Hey y'all!
Thanks for all the comments! This is just an FYI in letting y'all know that I will be unable to update my blog a couple weeks. Here are some pictures that we took of my brother when we dressed him up as phantom of the opera. Mom calls it "life without TV." He loves that movie and all the songs. I think they turned out so cute.

I have been studying the different legends and theories behind the phantom of the opera. Its pretty interesting. I want to compile the legends into 2 different ones. The most realistic, and the most dramatic. (I've always had a dramatic flair.)
Last week I went to that band party I mentioned briefly in the last post, it was so much fun!!! I did, however, get soaked the skin thanks to my band director and a guy from the band. It was hilarious! I am a practical jokester and so this guy and I were planning on soaking the director (the director is just like a big teenager, great sense of humor!) well anyway, I guess he overheard because we were talking and all of a sudden he rounds the corner in a full rain suit, and a 5-gallon bucket!!! It was soooooo funny. I was able to stay dry for a while but then one of the guys I had gotten wet earlier got me totally soaked from the front and then while I was kneeling to fill up a bottle by director got me from the back, so I was drenched! I changed clothes and after that thigns were a little bit saner, at least as sane as they can be with my band! LOL!!! I had a blast and it was my last time to hang out with all of then so it was kinda sad too. Oh, well. Life goes on right? Well I have to go. Take Care everybody!!! |

May. 16, 2006 - My new hobby
Hey y'all! I almost had this entry finished a while ago, and then the power went out and deleted all I had written. Oh well, lets see if I can remember it all! We are crazy around here trying to get the house ready to be on the market by next friday. Which means our house has to look like a model home. EEK! How in the world can you make a house with 5 kids living in it look like a model home??? Oh well, guess what my new hobby is? HTML! Blogboy sent me a link to a great tutorial on it and through that process I have come across other sites. The reason I got into it (well other than I wanted computer smarts - and its very cool) is because my mom wanted a different blog design for her page. Well after things went through with someone else who was going to do it, I offered to try and learn HTML so I could design her page. She agreed and so that is one of the main things I have been working on this past week and a-half. If you want to see what I have got done so far go to www.homeschoolblogger.com/airforcewebbfamily or to see mine go to www.homeschoolblogger.com/titus2blogdesigns I didn't have time to do the fancy click on a word and it links you to a site. ;-) For mine I don't have much done, I am switching off between just a plain cowboy one, and one that is my personality which would be music/cowboy, how in the world I am going to make that work and still look cool, I have no idea! Any suggestions, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated!!! I am mainly sticking with my mom's which is country apple themed. Well I gotta I am spending twice as long getting this written out as I normally do with the power going out and everything. I have a concert/band party this weekend and I am so excited!!! I can't wait! Just had to put that in there. Have a wonderful, Godly weekend! I don't have a question or anything but here is a quote by one of the older men in my church who used to be a missionary to south america. He said this to a man he was witnessing to who wasn't being very open to the truth of salvation. He said "Well if you don't get saved then you better try to live as long as you possibly can because this is as close to heaven as you're gonna get! But if your saved, well keep looking toward the end and try to invite as many people as you can with you because this is as close to hell as you're gonna get!" I thought it was great when I heard it and I still do. Go with God everybody!

May. 9, 2006 - Class, Concert, and Names
Heya everybody! Before I start, if you notice over to the right there is a box where you can enter your e-mail address so that whenever I update it will e-mail part of the update to you so you don't have to come to my site to see if I have enlightened y'all to life yet again. *wink* LOL! A big thanks to BlogBoy for helping me set it up! Yesterday I had my last class in public speaking and it was great! I really enjoyed that class. I never realized how much I enjoyed speaking in front of groups until this past year. And some people wish I had never realized it! LOL, JK) Throughout the year we had to give a lot of speeches, most of which for me were serious, but I also did some light-hearted ones. Some of the favorite ones that I gave were about "Bible Versions", some stories and ideas behind Katrina, "My family's evacuation during Rita", "Women's modesty", and "The Ingredients of a Hot Dog" (that one was extrememly fun to do!) I also have my last class in sign language this week and my second to last band concert is tonight. Everything is ending really soon. I know I am going to enjoy not having to rush around to classes and such (my mom will enjoy it more so than me!), but then again I have enjoyed all of my classes. What do y'all do during summer? Do y'all miss doing school and maybe voluntarily continue during the summer? Or are y'all jumping for joy that it is over? I am continuing school in the summer, mainly because I am behind. I also have an economics class next month but I enjoy that tremendously! Yesterday my dad bought a voice recorder that he and I will share since I paid for half of it. It's digital so I am able to load the clips up to the computer. It is really neat, especially since I was able to record my last speeches yesterday. It helps to hear yourself over the recorder so that you are able to critique the speech and how you gave it. Although it is extremely weird to hear yourself over it!
On a more spiritual note, I was studying my bible today and came across where the Lord calls James and John "Sons of Thunder" (Mark 3:17). And also where he renamed Simon Peter and called him "Cephas," (John 1:42) which means stone. I thought what he called james and john was interesting. In my lesson it explained that this probably meant that they had a very violent nature and quick temper as evidenced by different situations and interactions with the disciples, however the Lord still used that to glorify him by taking their personalities and molding them to be Godly men. Also with peter by calling him a stone or bolder, probably meant that peter was a strong person and steadfast. So after studying this I looked up what my name meant and actually I found a lot of things, logical, rational, great happiness, and truthfulness. But then I had to wonder what would the Lord call me? I mean, would he call me logical and truthful?<(my brother laughed when he say me type that) Or would he call me stubborn and headstrong? What about y'all? So here is my question for this entry. What does your name mean and are you really like that? (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to. LOL!) And, (you don't have to answer this one either, I just put it to be thought-provoking) What would Christ call you today if he were to see you right now? Have a great day y'all! Go with God! |

May. 5, 2006 - Dad's pinning
My Dad had his nursing school pinning 2 days ago. It was so neat! The pinning is sort of like a graduation thing, but only for nursing students. His graduation will be later. I am so proudof my dad of all he has sacrificed to go to nursing school so he will be able to go in the military and try to make our lives calmer and just a little bit saner! Here is a picture of my family that I am proud to claim! (Don't my parents look terrific!?!?!)

And then here is my dad saying the nurses prayer. I really like this picture.

Thanks for all the comments!!! I am really enjoying making new friends all across the US!!! Ok, to end with a question y'all can comment on. (I'd like to try and make a habit of putting a question at the end of every entry. Ranging every where from serious to light-hearted) What do y'all think about demons and angels? Are they real and to what extent are they involved with our every day lives? I just finished reading "This Present Darkness" by Frank Perretti and the book was full of deomons vs. angels and was wondering what other people thought. Take Care y'all!!!

May. 2, 2006 - Band
Hi everybody! Here are some pictures that have been taken of me in the past year. Next week I have a band concert of which is going to be my last one ever with this band since we are moving this fall. Yesterday was my last band practice so that was really sad for me because I have been with that band 5 1/2 years and my director is one who first taught me how to play the flute. It has been a very fun 5 1/2 years though. Yesterday was a blast because we played a lot of jokes on my director including stealing his timer (its a tradition) and snapping pictures of him while he is directing or in between songs. It was so much fun, but also made me realize how much I am going to miss him and the band. In fact the last picture of me on here is after my last Christmas concert. The one in the middle was yesterday after class. The director is holding the timer, of which a friend and I had stolen that day after much planning! I am finally in honors band which is the highest you can be in with his group. It worked out well, because I was finally able to make it up there considering I started beginner in 2000. The big joke was a comment a friend of mine made after one of my pratical jokes. "The honest ones are the ones you gotta look out for!" LOL!

On another note, I was doing my bible this morning and we are studying about peter. It was talking about how Jesus told him he would be a fisher of men, etc.... And later in the lesson it talked about how difficult a fishermen's life was, etc.. It made me realize again how great an analogy it is. In order to "catch fish" (ie: win souls) we may have to be out during times when it is not "convienent" for us or even safe. I am not saying you have to be in a place where it is not safe, but we should be willing to be if the Lord should call us to be there. Also to remain consistent and staying with it. Just as a fishermen could go out and fish all night yet not catch anything. We must continue 'fishing' even if it doesn't seem like we are catching anything. We however have an advantage to the fishermen in that when he comes home without catching anything, he has not affected anybody or anything during his time fishing. However, we as christians, fishing for souls, even if it doesn't look like we are catching anything, we are "setting the stage" per se, for others to "reel them in" to Christ. Anyway, just thought I would post my thoughts about it. Take care y'all!!!

May. 1, 2006 - My first entry
Hey everybody!!! My name is Alyssa and although this isn't my first blog, it is my first one with this server. I found out about it from my mom www.homeschoolblogger.com/titus2mommy and was glad to find so many Christian women here. My mom mentioned that she had seen a blog that a young lady put up to document her preparations to be a keeper at home and I thought I woudl do the same. I don't have a lot of time right now to do a full introduction of myself, I have speech class in a little while. However I do have time to mentiona few things, I am the oldest of 5 children, living in the lone star state. My dad is a full time college student right now, (although that is going to change this week! WooHoo! He graduates!) and my mom is a full time RN however in her heart she is a stay at home mom and can't wait to be one again. This fall my dad is going to join the airforce so then I will officially become a military kid and would love to hear from moms/kids/anybody who has expierenced that. Thanks for reading my post! Take Care!
Christ's Amabassador,
