Dec. 3, 2007 - Christmas Memory
Here is my memory post for Joci's contest .
When I was about eightish I watched a whole bunch of TV. I saw an add for this brand of stuffed animal called Pound Puppies. I really wanted one. So that is what I asked mom for when Christmas ran around. Well I didn't get it, and I thought it was the end of teh world, but it wasn't. Has a matter of fact, my most favorite stuffie (even today) is the stuffed dog I got instead. This as always stuck with me for some reason or another, and has I mature in my walk with Christ, I realize that sometimes when I ask God for something, HE'S not always going to give me exactly what I want. HE might have something better.

Nov. 22, 2007 - Amazingly Wonderful
It's amazing the peace and contentment that is in ones heart when you completly surrender to God and HIS Spirit. Nothing is impossible, and everything makes sense in HIS presence, and HIS will.
When your sweetly broken and wholey surrendered.

Nov. 18, 2007 - I'm so Glad
I'm am so glad that today is another day. A day to live for God. A day to soak in HIS love, and be thankful for HIS forgivness. Sometimes I get so caught up in my life that I don't take time to think about the fact that we are really here to serve Christ, and when we die, we get to be with HIM and worship HIM forever. How neat is that?
I tend to get so caught up in the future, about my wants, hopes, dreams and desires, that I totally forget I serve an Awesome God WHO has complete reign and control over my life. Why am I trying to figure it out now? I just need to wait on HIM, and HIS timing. A walk of faith.
And really, it doesn't really matter. It's just life on earth. Life is good, but isn't eternal life a whole lot better?

Nov. 11, 2007 - Does it Matter? Part 1
Starting now, every Sunday I'm going to post about something that really doesn't matter in light of eternity. This is a ten week series. Todays topic: church denominations. I don't really have a lot of time right now, so it's going to be short.
Do you really think that your church denomination is the only right one? We are all sinners, we all have different tranlations of the Bible and all of us read it differently. Is it really fair to say that no one else really loves God with all they have because their not baptist, first assembly, mennonite, calvinist, methodist, or whatever? Will it really matter when we stand before Christ? If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer on Saturday.
God bless,
Alycia

Nov. 7, 2007 -
Whenever you are concerned to think and act about your salvation, you
must put away all thoughts of works, traditions and philosophy -
indeed,
of the law of God itself. And you must run directly to the manger and
the mother's womb, embrace this infant and virgin's child in your arms,
and look at Him - born, being nursed, growing up, going about in human
society, teaching, dying, rising again, ascending above all the
heavens,
and having authority over all things. In this way you can shake off all
terrors and errors, as the sun dispels the clouds. This vision will
keep
you on the proper way, so that you may follow where Christ has gone.

Oct. 26, 2007 - Happy Birthday!
Today is Amanda's birthday! Happy Birthday Amanda!
I know this isn't the bestest birthday post ever, but at least i did it, right?
Me and her go back about a year and a half. At first we didn't get along, mostly because I had a judgemental attitude about her Superman background. But then I watched Superman Returns and was totally lost, so I asked her if she could fill me in on the rest of the story. She did, and then a friendship began to bloom. After that I realized she was a sweet, Godly, young lady who had a heart for the Lord as well as the cost it takes to serve Him.
Happy Birthday Amanda!!

Oct. 17, 2007 - How My Birthday Went
Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
Yesterday went well. The ladies at church through a suprise cake and ice cream thing for me, which was really sweet. Mom, Emmi and I went shopping, then out to dinner. Mama gave me a pretty flower arrangment, she said that I'm a big girl now, and big girls get flowers for everybirthday. Almost everyone of importance in my family remembered and called. Even my brother and sister-in-law called, which they have never done before. It was special. Here is some of the presents I got. I'm not very present oriented, but I know some of you are going to ask.
Mama: The New Rebellion Handbook and The book of days: Living the New Rebellion, vanilla body spray, dinner and flowers.
Daddy:A rocket building kit.
Emmy:The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack
Rose: Shampoo, conditioner, anti frizz stuff, and lotion. Can you tell she's a hair dresser?
Stephie: The Last Christian Generation and Don't Check your Brains at the Door by Josh McDowell
Grandma and Grandpa: $50. I used this to buy nail polish, envelopes, a snack and The Phantom of the Opera DVD.
This birthday was pretty special. :)

Oct. 15, 2007 - Just a Thought
"True faith expresses itself in actions not just words."
I don't have a clue who said that. This is my post for now, but keep looking for a birthday post. I'll either post about what I did for my sweet sixteen, or my reflections over the last year. Gotta go.

Do any of you get Vertical Thought magazine? I just got my first issue. It is awesomeness! Some of their views are a bit off the wagon, but it makes you think about what you really believe. It's a free magazine. Read about it here.

I have not done anything to the template yet. I will soon though.
Have a nice day,

Oct. 2, 2007 - In Ten Years
1Co 10:12
So that he who is thinking to stand--let him observe, lest he fall. YLT
Are you a person of strong biblical convictions? Are you passionatly observing and obeying the Word of God? Be careful! Those who think they stand are the most likely to fall. God has been speaking a lot to me about this lately. Now, at this point in time, I'm incredibly passionate about staying pure before marriage, and I know why. BUT in ten years or so, if I'm still single will I still have the same convictions, will I still know why ? Not if I don't keep in prayer about it and keep my sword sharp. I think that is the main key to following Christ, is reading the Bible. There is a song by Casting Crowns that goes with this theme.

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

On a different note, I'm finally working on my new template. It's going to be Phantom of the Opera themed. I'm going to start a new blog, just so I can work on it. I'll keep you posted on the username so you can check out it's progress.
Gotta go,
