A Modge-Podge

Please pray for my Uncle Freddy, his wife, and my aunt’s dog. He had to put his dog, Guss, to sleep today. My uncle had him since college, so he was old. Your prayers are appreciated. :)

Also, my grandpa is looking for a job. He’s got enough money to keep going, but a steady income would be nice.

I gave our puppy, Daisy, a bath this afternoon. I was a little nervous about it because she usually doesn’t cooperate. But I figured out a technique and she did a great job!! *tear* Our little puppy is getting to where she’s only bad ninety-nine percent of the time instead of a hundred percent! Just kidding… ;) She really is a pretty good dog. :)

I got my first scorpion sting last Friday.  The ones we have here aren’t deadly to humans (benadryl and meat tenderizer helped me feel better in a few hours), but it was still exciting.

Our friends list was somehow deleted – please send us a friend request if you are still wanting to be friends. :)

There’s the basic catch-up of the past week of my life. So exciting, right? ;)

An Amazing Book
September 4, 2010, 7:30PM
Filed under: God's Word,Renee

I’m sure that all of us have read one of those books that you just can’t put down. It keeps you up all night because it’s just that good. The most recent one for me was The Diamond Secret by Suzanne Weyn. This book was so amazing – as is the series it’s from, which is the Once Upon A Time series. (wonderful!!)

But what if we could be this excited about reading the Bible? What if God’s Words were so intriguing – so awesome – that we would want to read the Bible all the time! What if we loved it enough that we wanted to meet with the Author, talk to the Author, and ask for His advice!!

I wish I could tell you that I am constantly yearning for all these things, but I’m not. I love God, I love reading the Bible, and I love praying; but usually only when it’s convenient for me and fits into my schedule.

So my two cents for myself and for anyone else longing to long for Jesus and His Words, is to ask!

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
-Luke 11:9-10
            (it helps to read the whole thing – Luke 11:1-13)

“Do you not know?
       Have you not heard?
       The LORD is the everlasting God,
       the Creator of the ends of the earth.
       He will not grow tired or weary,
       and his understanding no one can fathom.

 He gives strength to the weary
       and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,
       and young men stumble and fall;”

-Isaiah 40:28-30

By definition, weary is being physically or mentally exhausted by hard work, exertion, strain, etc.; fatigued; tired: weary eyes; a weary brain.

I’m weary; I’m beat; I’m bone-tired, worn out, taxed, ready to drop, out of gas, fatigued, knocked out… however you want to say it, I’m tired.

School started this week, and with four challenging and time-consuming subjects, I don’t know how I’ll get it all done. Lucky for me…

“but those who hope in the LORD
       will renew their strength.
       They will soar on wings like eagles;
       they will run and not grow weary,
       they will walk and not be faint.”

-Isaiah 40:31

As Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. I am so glad that I have Christ to hold me up; to give me strength. Without Him, my life would be terribly messed up. In fact, I can’t even imagine my life without Him; it’s that horrible.

So I’m asking God to help me get through this school year, and I thank Him for this amazing opportunity I have to get a marvelous education… even though it’s hard. He’s using these tough times to make me stronger – to let me grow closer to Him. The thing that I have to do is respond to Him; to use these times to my advantage and, with His help, not to let them hurt me or get me down.

I hope that y’all are all having a wonderful school year so far, and that if you’re having tough times like me, that you will ask God to lift you up and overcome these struggles.

Well…he’s home!!!!!!!! WAHOO!! :D He’s got one more test tomorrow, and then he’s finished!!! They still haven’t come up with an official diagnosis, but at least he’s home. I believe he has type 2 diabetes, like my mom, and they were checking him to make sure he didn’t have cancer (again), but he’s going in tomorrow to be absolutely sure he doesn’t have cancer. But he’s done with the hospital and my grandmother and uncle and aunt can stop making the long drive every day!! :D Thank the Maker!!

Musically in Christ,

Psalm 18:43-50
August 22, 2010, 8:23PM
Filed under: Psalm Sunday,Tabby

43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people;
you have made me the head of nations;
people I did not know are subject to me.
44 As soon as they hear me, they obey me;
foreigners cringe before me.
45 They all lose heart;
they come trembling from their strongholds.

46 The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Savior!
47 He is the God who avenges me,
who subdues nations under me,
48 who saves me from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from violent men you rescued me.
49 Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD;
I will sing praises to your name.
50 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.
