My husband had a birthday while I was away. He turned 46 on June 2. We didn't do anything "special" because he just wanted to stay home and chill. We got him a $20 gift card to Subway, a Phillips Norelco shaver...it's his first one, and the top of the line bluetooth for his cell phone. The kids made him a cake and we put 46 candles on it. You should have seen his face when he saw all the candles...LOL!
It was a good day! Here are a few photos.

Slumber Party
Posted in Good Times!!
The Girls had a slumber party on June 12-14. It will be their last one before we move back to Las Vegas. They invited their closest friends. Some people couldn't make it. Daddy was kind enough to let them have it in a hotel (the Radisson). Here are some photos. The mummy's that you see was a game they played to see who could wrap the other person the fastest. I had to play with them because the numbers were odd. The last photo was "if you go to sleep first you're gonna get inked"...that's why her face is drawn on. We also went to Lakeside, an amusement park. Everyone was pooped and everyone had fun!

Checkin' In.....
Posted in Randomness
Hello Friends,
I am just taking a minute to check in and let ya'll know I am still alive. I am still in the process, but I am confident that God is in it with me. It's been hard and draining, but I knew the Holy Spirit was going deep in my spirit/soul this time because I asked Him to show me truth. So, keep praying for me.
"Thank you" to those who have sent me emails, cbox messages, and private messages letting me know you love me and are thinking about me. It means a lot to me that you care.
I will check in again at a later time.
Hugs & Kisses,
Tirzah

Almost Done....
Posted in School Dayz
Well our school year is almost over...YAAAAAA!!! I have learned SO much this year about myself and my children. God has ministered to me about how to teach them, so our next school year will have some changes and I think things will be waaay more relaxed for us. I am actually looking forward to a God-led school year (as long as I am listening) *wink*.
We are going to do math through out the summer months in hopes of focusing more on other studies when we officially start school again in September. On the flip side, doing it this way will ensure concentration on math . I am definitely sticking with Math U See! My son loves it. I did tell him that we are still in the "easy" stuff. I had to start him all the way from the beginning foundations of math. His teachers (in pubic school) passed him to the next grades, but he didn't learn anything *angry smilie*. At least he is enjoying it with the blocks.
We have a unit study planned for Italy, but then we found out that Her Interactive is making a new Nancy Drew game based in Venice, Italy. Since Nancy Drew games always involve problem solving, history, culture, etc. this will be a great way to learn stuff about Italy without the boringness of a complete unit study. After we play the game we are going to have an Italy week of food and music and whatever else the kids come up with.
Everyone is looking forward to a long break...especially ME!

Friendship...
Posted in The Eyes of My Soul
I have never been one to really have friends. I mean, in elementary school I had a couple friends. In Junior High (middle school) I had one friend. In High School I had a couple friends, but only one that I actually hung out with. After I gave my heart to Christ in High School, all of the remaining friends I had acquired disappeared. I can't say I cared much. Then I made friends at the church I was saved in. All of it was short lived and that hurt.
I'm going to share my heart and random thoughts concerning friendship.
I have always wondered what happened to the value of friendship. I have always wondered why, with time, friendships take a back seat. It's like, there is no time anymore to develop a quality, lasting friendship. I guess I am the type of person who likes to have that one friend to hang out with, to call just because, go to each others house with the kids and chill, never have to have a reason to come by and say hey, talking everyday even for just a minute, being mischevious together...ultimately...having each others back no matter what.
I have always wanted a friend like this. Are my desires to far fetched? I don't think so. My mom has known her best friend for over 30 years. It has taken time and they have been through their share of stuff, but they always came back together and did everything together even if that meant taking all of us kids along. They would do anything for each other. I desperately envy that and long for that...it's like a deep aching in my soul to have that kind of girlfriend in my life.
I have found that people are too busy to make time to cultivate long lasting, beautiful friendships. This is really sad because God created us to be relational and I believe those relations exceed family relations. My mom didn't neglect us because she had a friend. They made time for each other...operative word "made"...second operative "time". So what happened? I don't know. I know that I don't HAVE to be busy all the time. I was in the grocery store last week and a lady that I knew last year (she was the kids bus driver) spoke to me. She asked me if I was keeping busy. I looked at her puzzled and said, "No actually keeping busy causes me stress. Besides that, if I am SO busy then I don't have time for my friends, things I like to do, and spontaneous activities with my family." She just stood there and looked at me like "OOOOk I wasn't asking for all of that, I was just making small talk"...LOL. I knew she was just making small talk, but that is one question that rubs me the wrong way.
Because of hurt, I stopped reaching out to people. I pushed aside the deep, continually growing desire, to have that close friend. But, you know, over time, I couldn't ignore the thing God put in me and that is, as a woman I am relationship oriented...the way He made me and every other woman. I want my daughters to have this kind of friendship with each other and with a friend of their own. I am not exactly an example to them of ever having this kind of friendship, but God can do anything.

Cornbread and Sara
Posted in Chillaxin
Ok, so we had ribs, broccili, and cornbread for dinner. I finished the ribs and Sara said, "Maaaama are you almost done? MMMM these smell soooo good...I'm about to die and my stomach is growling. Pleeeeease hurry."
She was standing sooo close to the pan, I thought she was going to inhale the BBQ sauce...lol

So she figured if she helped me make the cornbread and broccili, it would speed things up...lol...kids...

After she set the timer, she was ok waiting for another 20 minutes

Hat Contest....
Posted in Good Times!!
Tamar is going to a b-day slumber party this weekend. They are having a hat contest and this is the hat she chose.

Posted in Chillaxin
So for the last 2 days, I have been braiding Tamar's hair. It's taking me a while because of my back and I have to keep stopping, but I will be done this evening. It's been a little while since I braided it last. At the end of May I am going to to Destiny's and Sara's. I will have a before and after pic when I am done.

I didn't realize I have been MIA!!!
Posted in Good Times!!
Wow it's been over a week since I posted anything!
Ok, after Isaiah's B-day, Destiny had a b-day. We were supposed to go to Idaho Springs to see some friends, but that didn't happen. So we went to breakfast and then she just chilled out for the rest of the day. She made her cake and made a number 14 out of the candles since Daddy forgot the decorations. She was very surprised that she received gifts since she was under impression that she wasn't getting anything because of her behavior, but Daddy took that opportunity to explain to her that God doesn't bless us based on our behavior, but He blesses us because He loves us. She received 7 cd's, 2 books, and a digital camera. I loved seeing the excitement on her face! It was a good day!
Since she likes The Sims, I thought this frame was appropriate.

What is our essence??
Posted in The Eyes of My Soul
If someone were to ask you this what would you answer:
What is the essence of you, woman?
My answer: The essence of me is beauty, relationship, mystery, romance, adventure, creativity, motivation, mercy, compassion, and love.

Sara is doing scripture copywork. Her scripture is John 1:1-4. I went through it with her last Wednesday, as she was learning to read it. We hadn't touched it since then. Well, today, she read it again all by herself!!!!! Even the word "beginning" and "made (which she had trouble with)".
I am a proud Mama!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.......
Posted in Good Times!!
ISAIAH
10 years old today!

Today is my sons birthday. He's not having a b-day party or anything seeing as how we have been celebrating his b-day ALL weekend. First, on Friday, we went to Jester's, where they have All You Can Eat Crab and Prime Rib Buffet. Then yesterday we went to the Harlem Globe Trotter game and bought their memorabilia. Today, he invited a friend over and tonight we are having pizza, cake and ice cream. He is going to make his own cake. So that will be fun for him. I will post pics of his "Kitchen Adventure" later tonight or tomorrow.
If you stop by, please wish him a Happy Birthday.
Hugs,
Tirzah
OK here are pics from the "Kitchen Adventure"

He had fun!

Things that make you say hhhmmmm....
Posted in Randomness
I snagged this from Elissa at ChristianUnschooling
n the spirit of that great theologian, Jeff Foxworthy, I present to you some rambling thoughts in my head, all completed by the phrase “you might be misrepresenting God”…
- If your message is not filled with hope, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you tell people that they need to come to you to understand the message of scripture, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that “being real” means talking more about the wind and waves in your life than about the One who calms the storm, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that people who don’t attend a Sunday morning meeting are outside of God’s covering and protection, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that sickness, financial problems, hurricanes, broken bones, auto accidents, and terrorist attacks are all tools of God “to teach you something”, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that a person can’t live above their circumstances and walk in peace and victory, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that someone is not being real unless they tell you they’re struggling with some huge temptation, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that the only legitimate types of prayer for a Christian are prayers of lament, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you tell someone who is experiencing the peace and joy of the Lord to “hang on, your turn is coming”, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that only “properly authorized leaders” are capable of serving communion or baptizing others, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that Christianity is best represented by a set of propositional statements and/or a systematic theology, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If your message does not lead to freedom, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that the Father doesn’t speak to his children in various ways, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that America is “God’s chosen country” and that everything America’s foreign policy represents is ordained by God, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that the Republican party is “God’s party, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that religion and Christianity are compatible, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that you can only “cooperate” in ministry and missions with people who have been baptized by a pastor in your same denomination, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that true Christianity is only represented by a particular denomination or systematic theology, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If your belief in Christ does not manifest itself in living the life that Christ commanded us to live, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that you are more capable of articulating what someone else believes than that very person is capable of doing, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, freedom to the captives, and walking to the lame were only for first-century “verification of the message”, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that the only legitimate way to articulate one’s belief in God is found in a 4th-century statement, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that our main responsibility in relationship to God is to study the Bible, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that “everyone needs to have a pastor”, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that leaving the institutional church is what the writer of Hebrews meant when he wrote, “Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together”, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that a relationship with God means that you will accept or reject certain styles of music, certain hairstyles, certain beverages, or hanging out with certain people, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you think that Jesus turned water into mere grape juice, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that a particular translation of the bible is the only inspired version, you might be misrepresenting God.
- If you believe that one’s beliefs about baptism, bible translation, rapture timing, tongues, or a particular interpretation of Genesis 1-2 are absolute essentials to salvation and/or fellowship, you might be misrepresenting God.
