Random Ramblings

The last few weeks have gone by quickly as they always do. My husband and I were able to get away for a night in March. It was supposed to be a 2-night stay but the weather interrupted. Our first day was a beautiful day and very mild temps. That is the day I took the picture of the waterfall. Snow was predicted to come in overnight so we decided to head home. I’m so glad we did! The next morning we woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. It didn’t hang around long but I was glad to be back home with the boys when it happened. My cat Max loves to get in the middle of whatever I’m doing. Which is why he’s on my desk here.

Our school year is moving closer to wrapping up. We should be done with all of our regular school lessons at the end of April. Our homeschool co-op actually has our last day in the middle of April. I feel like we have achieved more this year than what we have in the past couple of years. Also, this time of year means I’m looking at the curriculum that we used this year and assessing whether it’s been a good fit for us or what we might want to change for next year. I still am amazed at the fact that my twins will be high schoolers next year. That also means I will have no one under 9th grade here. My boys have grown up so quickly. I know that is such a mom thing to say but it is so true! My oldest was able to attend church this past Sunday for missions day. He also brought 6 others from his college with him. We had great day! He is wrapping up his school year as well and will be moving back home in just a few weeks.

Lincoln Day Dinner 2022

Last week at our homeschool co-op we were able to take a field trip to a local vocational school. Some of the students have plans to choose this route for continuing their education. It was a great opportunity for them to learn more about the programs that are offered.

An organization that I belong to helped put together a Lincoln Day Dinner for the county, Our upcoming elections start with a primary in May. This picture I had taken after we got done setting up everything and decorating that morning. The dinner later that day was very nice and I really enjoyed it. As my boys have gotten older I have gotten more active in things of this nature. I’m probably not a person who will ever run for an office but I do want to help support candidates who I believe stand for values that I stand for. I guess you could say it’s an old interest for me. Even back in college, I interned for a senator’s local field office.

I hope as we finish out the school year I will be able to get on a more regular blogging schedule. I’m sure the days will go by quickly. During breaks I usually plan, clean, and try to catch up on appointments for me and the boys. It makes the summer break fly by. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure we will squeeze in some fun days too.
