Hello once again! Not long after my last post and shortly before Thanksgiving, my laptop decided to crash. After working on it for several days myself and also my son, I took it to have a professional look at it. He informed me that it would probably take a few hundred dollars to “possibly” retrieve my lost files. I decided to forgo his services as the laptop is several years old. My son and I are trying something else and may be able to eventually retrieve part of the files. I know that isn’t many details, but hopefully, it will let you know that I have been in a computer limbo for the past month, and now I am trying to adjust to a new computer. Thankful for the Christmas discounts on the purchase.
So onward I march with a short update. We have finished our homeschool semester and the semester at our homeschool co-op. My oldest is home from college until mid-January. My two youngest sons and I attended a local Christmas tree lighting. We had our traditional family “Christmas Feast”. We started doing this many years ago when our holidays were filled with too much running around to relatives’ homes. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed the time with them, but we wanted to do something at our house too. Some years it has been a meal centered around dishes from our history or geography studies. This year it was just a nice meal together at a time when no one had to be at work. So last Sunday afternoon, I set the table with some of my “good dishes,” and we had a good meal. This past Monday, I attended a Christmas event that was very lovely, and I had a very good time. Pair all of that up with preparing for Christmas, church services, and more doctor appointments than I wish for my boys and my dad. Also, my husband and I have just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary! Whew! I often feel like I’m too busy, and now you know part of the reason why. I would rather be busy than bored, though. If I don’t post again before Christmas, I wish all of you the most wonderful of holidays! Don’t forget to celebrate Christ’s birth.
How nice that you carved out time for a nice family meal. I like your “Christmas Feast” idea!
