I love having the chance to review both fiction and non-fiction books from Bethany House Publishers. I have already shared two book reviews, and I plan on sharing the last review next week.

Make Their Day was an excellent, quick read in which the author shared 101 ways that we can help those around us in a variety of ways. I particularly liked the idea of preparing a meal in the slow cooker before the start of Sunday service and then inviting someone from church home to join the family for dinner. What a wonderful way to bless someone with a family dinner and get to know members of the congregation better!

I have enjoyed reading other books by the author of Brave: A Teen Girl’s Guide to Beating Worry and Anxiety, Sissy Goff. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I appreciate having been able to read Raising Worry-Free Girls and Braver, Stronger, Smarter.

The cover of Brave is very appealing. It has a sheen that reflects the light of my living room table lamp as I sit here and write this post. It is a book written to be read by teenage girls, but I would still recommend parents read the book before they share it with their daughters.

Next week, I will share my review of Talking with Teens About Sexuality. This book presents topics so that parents can “understand your teen’s world so you can hear them and they can hear you.” There are sections about social media, dating, purity, and other topics presented with examples and references to Scripture.

Reading and reviewing non-fiction books is one way I can continue to grow as a parent and Christian as well as enjoy some time for myself. And fortunately, I am able to share my thoughts and opinions of the books with others.

For the month of February, there were multiple books from Bethany House Publishers that I wanted to read and review for my blog, A Mom’s Quest to Teach.
