We are meant to love and be loved.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 22:35-40 says in NKJV: <em>Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, \u201cTeacher, which is the great commandment in the law?\u201d Jesus said to him, \u201c\u2018You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.\u2019 This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: \u2018You shall love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>John 14:23,24 NKJV says: <em>Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cIf anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father\u2019s who sent Me.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father\u2019s commandments and abide in His love. \u201cThese things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one\u2019s life for his friends.\u00a0<\/em>John 15:9-13, NKJV.<\/p>\n<p><em>A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.\u201d <\/em>says John 13:34,35, NKJV.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus says in John 14:15, <strong><em>If you love Me, keep My commandments.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 Corinthians 13:1-13:<\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\"><em><span class=\"text 1Cor-13-1\">Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28668\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>And though I have\u00a0the gift of\u00a0prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith,\u00a0so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28669\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0though I bestow all my goods to feed\u00a0the poor,\u00a0and though I give my body\u00a0 to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28670\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>Love suffers long\u00a0and is\u00a0kind; love\u00a0does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28671\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>does not behave rudely,\u00a0does not seek its own, is not provoked,\u00a0 thinks no evil;\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28672\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>does not rejoice in iniquity, but\u00a0rejoices in the truth;\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28673\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28674\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>Love never fails. But whether\u00a0there are\u00a0prophecies, they will fail; whether\u00a0there are\u00a0tongues, they will cease; whether\u00a0there is\u00a0knowledge, it will vanish away.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28675\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>For we know in part and we prophesy in part.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28676\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28677\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-28678\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>For\u00a0now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then\u00a0face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-28679\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but <strong>the greatest of these\u00a0is love<\/strong>.
