There are varying attitudes about the celebration of birthdays, especially for children. Some people might think it encourages selfishness; in some cases, that might be true.<\/p>\n

I like to think of birthdays as a means to celebrate another year with which the Lord has blessed the birthday person. Take time to thank God for that precious person.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Take time to acknowledge the gifts and talents that person has, the growth they’ve exhibited over the past year. Maybe it’s time which that person can set a new goal for personal growth or a new skill they want to learn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Celebrations don’t have to be elaborate. Gifts don’t have to be expensive. Frankly, I’m the grandmother who gives at least one book for every birthday.<\/p>\n

Does your family have any birthdays to celebrate this month? The little boy I used to babysit will be celebrating his 6th birthday this month. Sometimes I really miss babysitting him.<\/p>\n
