Posted on July 31, 2023

This is a cougar, They are quite dangerous if you get to close. Cougars can be found in the Yukon territory in Canada all the way down to the southern Andes in Chile.

Cougars are carnivores and they like to feed on larger animals like elk, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, and different types of deer.

If you ever come across a cougar while hiking and it is hissing at you and looks like it is getting ready to pounce, put your arms up in the air and make lots of noise.

Cougars can get to weights of 117-159 pounds and are usually 7ft 10in from nose to tail.
