The recipe that I used to make these very delicious chocolate cookies (which actually became chocolate chip squares) was actually for coconut cookies, I just substituted the coconut for chocolate chips and they turned out pretty well. When I put them into the oven I wasn’t expecting them to melt and merge together, so when they were ready to come out of the oven I used a knife and separated them into chocolate chip squares, but they were very crumbly when I scooped them off onto a rack to cool off.

Oh, they look so crispy and yummy. I’ve made my fair share of square cookies that I’ve had to cut from a single mound of cookies that meshed together myself! They still taste yummy though.
Sometimes those ingredients can be so challenging to work with. Have you tried refrigerating your batter for an hour or two before putting in the oven? That can sometimes help.
