This is an American Badger and they can be found in places other than America for some reason. Here a few Badger facts a Badgers diet is mostly smaller animals, Badgers are Nocturnal and live in dens with Tunnel and chambers, Badgers aren’t real hibernators but they do slow down in the colder months.
With such sharp claws they use for digging, tunneling and sometimes defense you would not want to get a wave by a badger.

The American Badger can be found widely distributed around northern Mexico, the west coast of Canada, along with the west and central parts of the USA.
The American Badger is currently endangered so it lives in the wild in Ontario but is facing extinction.
You did some great research for this one. I didn’t see a mention about whether they were in Saskatchewan though, but of course since we saw this one in the Oldtimers Museum we wondered whether these were the predators that may have feasted on our chickens!
