It’s Fri-YAY! We’ve got some good things to read and consider together today. \ud83d\udcd6\ud83c\udf3b\u2615<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are reading in 1 Corinthians 12 today about spiritual gifts. Do you know what yours is? We finish practicing our memory passage, Psalm 103:1-8–we’ll add verse 9 on Monday. How are you doing with that? \ud83d\ude0a Our scripture writing passage today is Ecclesiastes 2:11, which actually tells us where contentment is *not* found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Streams in the Desert asks God to “Quicken Us” and Tozer asks the question, “Are We Missing the Church’s Purpose?” Spurgeon writes about the process “From Obedience to Blessing” in Faith’s Checkbook for this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finish by looking at God’s name “Jehovah-Nissi” (the Lord is our banner) and what that means, connecting it with Psalm 60:4. Our prayer from The Valley of Vision today is entitled “True Religion”, and asks, “May my heart be right with Thee, and my life as becometh the gospel.” We are not to compare ourselves with the spirituality of others, or even our own idea of what that should look like…but look to Christ, and strive to follow His example, see with His perspective, think as He does. That’s what all this reading, scripture writing, memorization is meant to do as we meet together each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
