Good morning, my friends! I need time in the Word…you too? Let’s go! \ud83d\udcd6\ud83c\udf3b\u2615<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Timothy 2 is where we are reading this morning, as we work our way through the New Testament in a year. What do you think the differences are between supplications, prayers and intercessions? Today’s passage also speaks of praying for those in authority. Those in the US…have you prayed for the president today? “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord…” We also touch on where our identity should come from as believers. Our scripture writing passage is Philippians 4:8,9–we are to run our thoughts through the sieve of God’s word– and we are working on memorizing Psalm 103:1-18 this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Streams in the Desert we consider “Thy Rod and Thy Staff”–God’s word is our staff to lean upon in all circumstances. He always has the best, right answer–don’t we say that every day when we meet together? \ud83d\udc97Tozer in the Morning speaks of “Books and the Christian”–The teacher’s best service is to make himself unnecessary…The book that frees me to think my own inspired thoughts is my friend.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charles Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook today reminds us that “He Acts on Honest Confession”–“Let us plead His promise in the name of Jesus. He will deliver us from the pit of hell which yawns for us; He will grant us life and light. Why should we despair? Why should we even doubt?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our prayer scripture for this Tuesday is Psalm 119:18. This psalm has God’s Word as its theme, and provides us with an excellent prayer to pray every time we open our Bibles–“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” Our hymn text for today is “Open My Eyes That I May See” by Clara Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open my eyes that I may see
glimpses of truth thou hast for me.
Place in my hands the wonderful key
that shall unclasp and set me free.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have that key in our hands today.
