It’s Wednesday again here in the Quiet Time Corner…are you ready for our little quiz? \ud83d\udcd6\ud83c\udf3b\u2615<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin by reading in 2 Timothy 2, with more of Paul’s instructions to young Timothy. So much wisdom packed into these short chapters. Our scripture writing passage today is Numbers 23:19–God keeps His promises, friends! And today we have our fill-in-the-blank quiz on Psalm 103:1-19. No grading, though…give it a try!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Streams in the Desert today tells us about “Lessons in the Shadow”–“Oh, shadowed, solitary ones, remember how closely the quiver is bound to the warrior, within easy reach of the hand, and guarded jealously.” I love that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tozer explains about “Detailing the ‘Everything'”–“It is important that we trace our benefits back to their source and express our thanks to the One ‘from whom all blessings flow,’ rather than merely to feel a vague stirring of gratefulness that results in nothing real.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook exhorts us to “Grow Up”–“The Sun of Righteousness has risen upon thee Answer to His beams as the buds to the natural sun. Open thine heart; expand and grow up into Him in all things.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our scripture for our prayer time, Psalm 34:17, reminds us that God takes a peculiar interest in those who are indeed His children (John 1:12). We finish the the hymn text, “For the Beauty of the Earth”, which revisits Tozer’s theme of naming the One who is receiving our gratitude for “everything”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
