A happy and blest Monday to you all! Let’s get into our Bibles! \ud83d\udcd6\ud83c\udf3b\u2615<\/p>\n

We are continuing in our reading of Psalm 18 (all 50 verses of it over the next several days) and we are reminded why we are a delight to our God. Our scripture writing portion as we finish up this topic of True Beauty is 1 Peter 3:3-4 and we define more fully what “meek and quiet” is: “a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.” We add verse 4 to our scripture memory portion from Proverbs 2:1-7.<\/div>\n

Days of Heaven on Earth by A. B. Simpson discusses the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit: “That is what He comes to do; \u201cYe shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you.\u201d Better than that, \u201cYe shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you.\u201d That is the true version, and really it is immensely different from the other.”<\/div>\n

“Yes…But…!” is the topic for My Utmost for His Highest–“We act like pagans in a crisis\u2014 only one out of an entire crowd is daring enough to invest his faith in the character of God.” So true.<\/div>\n

Philippians 1:6 is our prayer scripture, reminding us that we can have full confidence in God’s character and His promises. Our hymn text, Hymn 60, is from “The Psalms and Hymns of Isaac Watts” and we talk a little about his connection to John Newton.<\/div>\n

Our steady souls should fear no more<\/div>\n
Than solid rocks when billows roar.<\/div>\n
