Here We Go Again…

I am not new to the world of blogging. In fact, this is the fourth or fifth blog page I’ve started over the last 10 years. I’ve written under numerous titles such as Adventures in Mommyland, Moments in Mommyland, The Bechard Five, and Pandemic Homeschooling. All focused on Motherhood, but the topics varied ever so slightly.

At one point in time, I blogged professionally. I wrote sponsored posts, did advertisements for major brands, attended conferences, and took media trips. It was a very cool time for me and I will be forever grateful for the experiences it gave my family. You’re probably wondering why I decided to leave that behind. After all, heavily discounted vacations and free stuff is pretty appealing, right? I left because the industry was changing. It seemed to heavily value edited imagery over thoughts and written words. PR firms wanted posed images of myself or my kids, holding up some product that they needed showcased. That wasn’t my thing. It’s still not my thing, so I bowed out. I decided to let those kinds of creators do what they do, and I’d focus on my life at home with the kids.

But I love to write… and my heart lies in connections. I desire community, conversation, and the sharing of thoughts. That is why I started blogging in the first place. Homeschoolblogger.com has given me the opportunity to focus on the words once again; A fresh start surrounded by Christian Homeschoolers. My people! I need more of these people in my life.

Homeschooling is an interesting journey in that despite how many of us are out there, we’re a tight knit people. I think it’s because we’re doing something that goes against the social norms. Being different bonds us together. We share many of the same goals and ideals. We all started down this road for different reasons, but ultimately, we’re doing it because we feel it’s best for our kids.

I’m not exactly sure what this space will look like. Will I include photos? Will I share specifically about homeschool only or will I also talk about travel, homesteading, and our acreage life? I’ll let the chips fall where they may. I guess it’ll be as much a surprise to me as it is to you.

Be blessed today, friends. And thank you for stopping by.

Lovely to hear from you! Welcome, and thanks for sharing part of your story. Heavily edited imagery is definitely not my thing either, lol … especially since I never seem to be able to get a photo where all of us look good at exactly the same time!
