You know those tool sets you can buy for ladies, where everything has a stylish pink handle (maybe even glittery), and it all fits into a cute pink satchel? If we had one for restful homeschooling, the very first thing we’d need to include in it would be a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1
The word “justified” I’ve heard explained as “just as if I’d never sinned”. We have an inheritance that was passed down from Adam, which means we are at odds with God even before we are born into our earthly family. Jesus died to remove that inheritance and its penalty and remove the penalty, burden, and separation our sin nature had caused. When we are born again we become children of God, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us, teaching, guiding, convicting, leading, correcting, comforting, giving us discernment, sanctifying (growing us in faith) us, and making intercession for us. I cannot imagine life without these relationships active in my life, and I imagine that my attempts at homeschooling would have been a dismal, chaotic failure without all the divine help I’ve been offered! Listen to the most important podcast I’ve ever done (about the gospel) here!
We can have joy, peace, and hope when we trust Christ as our Savior!
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13
If you would like to talk with someone about this, I’m happy to connect with you in the comments or on Facebook here.
I love that analogy!
