Good morning! How’s September treating you so far? 😊🍁🍂😊
This morning we read together from Acts 5, and we meet Ananias and his wife, Sapphira. We have important truths regarding the deity and Person of the Holy Spirit here. We see that no matter what the threats against them might be, the apostles continued in serving God and proclaiming the good news. Obey God rather than men.
Today we have 1 Pet. 4:9,10 as our scripture writing passage from Sweet Blessings, speaking of hospitality. Perhaps today we need to define that word biblically. We continue practicing Philippians 2 as our scripture memory passage.
Streams in the Desert speaks of being “Fashioned in the Fire”–suffering for the Lord even as we read about in Acts today. Let’s be faithful as we endure the fire that fine china experiences. Tozer addresses “Postponing Obedience”–salvation apart from obedience is unknown in the scriptures. Faith’s Checkbook tells us about how we ought to “Follow to Know”. The Lord delights to make the simple wise.
We finish with Joshua 1:9 (and also with verse 8 as the context) as our prayer scripture today. Read with intent to obey. We have “The Savior” from The Valley of Vision as our last thoughts today.
