Good morning–time to start another day! 📖🌻☕
We read Acts 8 today, and we follow Philip as he obeys the direction and leading of the Lord and is brought to an Ethiopian in the desert who was seeking God through reading in the book of Isaiah. One who had “ears to hear”, who was earnestly seeking to know God, was found by Him. (Jer.29:13)
We work on Philippians 2:3-9 this week, committing it to memory and our scripture writing passage about serving others is Eph, 2:8-10–we are saved by grace through faith plus nothing, and then walk in good works, serving others.
Streams in the Desert reminds us that “Trouble Teaches”–we need to stop being restless and fretful in our trials…”sweet joy” and opportunity can be found in them. Tozer tells us about “Experiencing God In Spite of Distractions”. Grateful for the “precious legacy” he mentions today as we look deeply into the great and inspirational writings of others.
In Faith’s Checkbook Spurgeon writes of “The Reach of Almighty Grace” today. He has kept His promise and will keep every other. Our scripture for prayer today is Colossians 1:17–He holds all things together.
We finish today with “Reconciliation” from The Valley of Vision this morning. God has been in the “business” of reconciliation from the beginning…the provision of the perfect Lamb has always been a part of His plan. Because God is omniscient, our deliverance has always been on His mind. Oh, how He loves you and me!
