Good morning! Let’s see what God has for us to meditate on today.
I’ll thank you in advance for your patience with my reading today…my goodness, just too tired with not enough coffee on board! Thanks, gracious friends!
Acts 23 is our chapter as we make our way through the New Testament in a Year. We see that the “good news” is upsetting, even infuriating, to those who have been steeped in the Law for so long. We also see that God continues to use Paul’s background…his Roman citizenship in particular, to further the cause of gospel.
Our scripture writing passage for the day is Hab. 3:17-19–there is always something to rejoice in and thank God for, even in the hardest of times. Streams in the Desert reminds us about the “Providence of Loss” in the account of Elijah–“God’s hardest words are never His final ones.”
Tozer discusses “Purifying Perceptions of God”In Faith’s Checkbook today we learn about Micah 5:7 “At God’s Bidding”, and our prayer scripture from the free journal at The Proverbial Homemaker is 2 Peter 1:5-7.
We close this morning with a favorite hymn text, “Sometimes A Light Surprises” by William Cowper. “I cannot but rejoice”!
