Good morning! This is the day that the Lord has made–let us rejoice and be glad in it! 📖🌻☕
Reading from a new letter from Paul this morning–1 Corinthians 1. He opens this letter (and reiterates it in chapter 2 tomorrow) that he comes to them in humility and not pretense, to address the concerns he has for the church at Corinth. We continue memorizing Psalm 103:1-5, and today we write Phil. 4:11,12 (a very familiar passage on the theme of contentment).
Streams in the Desert tells us about “The Captive” regarding how precious God’s word is to us when we feel imprisoned by our life’s circumstances. Tozer discusses “Religious Word Rationing”…be wary of those idle words. In prayer, a wonderful safeguard is to pray scripture (which is why we have that guide each day at the end of our podcasts).
Faith’s Checkbook’s’ topic is “You Make the Trenches”…be on the watch for answers to prayer, with expectation and hope. Prepare for rain! Today’s attribute of God for our prayer time is omnipotence (He is all-powerful). We close with the hymn text I alluded to yesterday–“Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”.
