Good morning! It’s December eve! Let’s spend some time together in God’s wonderful Word. 📖🌻☕
2 Corinthians 3 today–others “read” about Christ through our lives. We should follow the example Paul sets here in sharing the gospel with “plainness of speech”. Keep it simple. Put it all on the bottom shelf so everyone can reach it. It’s possible to preach an impressive message that accomplishes nothing in the way of edifying anyone.
Psalm 103:1-10 is what we are practicing together this week for our memory passage. Today’s scripture writing portion on Contentment is Isaiah 58:11–God provides on all levels of our lives so that we will be a well-watered garden in this “dry and thirsty land where no water is”. His waters are not a mirage…they are a reliable source of refreshment, sustenance, and growth.
Streams in the Desert tells us what it looks like to be “In God, Not Out of Trouble”. Our lives “for a prey” are snatched out of the jaws of the destroyer. Tozer writes about “Worldly Pollutions” today. I’m afraid we are not as perceptive about worldly influences as we ought to be. Would you agree?
Faith’s Checkbook reminds us that “God Is In the Front Line”…He will be with us and not fail us. If He goes before us, it must be safe to follow. We may feel grievously oppressed, but God is bearing the brunt of the onslaught. Remember that.
We close this podcast and this month considering God’s name, Elohim–God all powerful. In our weakness, He is strong. As our weakness increases, His strength is overwhelmingly sufficient. The song text we look at is “In My Weakness” by Soundforth Music.
Tomorrow we begin some new resources for scripture writing and prayer. Thanks for joining me!
