It’s a very frigid, (-3) snowy morning here at Windy Poplars…how’s the weather where you are? In any case, there is sunshine in my soul! 🌞🌞🌞
We read together this morning in Colossians 1, which contains another one of Paul’s wonderful prayers for the church at Colosse (in this letter) and also solidly establishes the deity of Jesus Christ as well as His presence at Creation. We work again on our memory passage, Psalm 103:1-15, and from The Ruffled Mango, our scripture writing passage is Psalm 92:12-15.
In Streams in the Desert, we read about “Step By Step Grace”–when you pass through the waters they shall not overflow you. “When we are on the edge of our need, God’s hand is stretched out.” We have a wonderful poem by Annie Johnson Flint at the end of today’s portion. Tozer tells us about “Those Sanctifying Effects of Suffering”–he addresses the idea of “Instant Christianity” which is worth thinking more about.
In Faith’s Checkbook has “Help From Without” as its topic today, “His help is timely, He is very present in time of trial”. We conclude with Psalm 23 as our prayer scripture and “Mortification” is the title of our portion from The Valley of Vision: “O recall me to thyself, and enable me to feel my first love.”
