Here we are, safely through another week. Is everyone staying well? I know there is a lot of sickness going around. Please use the prayer request feature in the group to share anything we can pray with you about! Let’s have some fellowship around the Word. 📖🌻☕
Today we huddle around Colossians 2 this morning. In Christ are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. What we know about Christ should be affecting our “walk” (way of life). He took the Law and nailed it to His cross…what a powerful word picture!
We finish memorizing Psalm 103:1-15 today…we’ll add verse 16 on Monday. For our scripture writing passage today we have Psalm 128:1-4 — happiness and blessing belongs to those who fear the Lord.
In Streams in the Desert tells us about “Contentment”, which is an intriguing topic with the verse from Paul (from his letter to the church at Philippi, which was written from a jail cell) in view. A beautiful allegory given today…let’s be the “best little heart’s ease” that we can.
In Morning & Evening with Tozer, we read about “Repellent Personalities”–let’s be sure that if we are rejected, it is because it is our association with Christ that causes the offense and not a distasteful part of our demeanor. Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook tells us about being “Always Growing”. Power to see the truth is a blessing.
Our scripture for our prayer time from His Mercy Is New is Psalm 27:1–He is our light, our salvation, and the strength (refuge, fortress) of our life. Our hymn text today is “Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners” by J. W. Chapman, who understood heartache and loss and therefore the value of holding on to the Savior who is ever true and never fails.
