Good morning, ladies! Time to “arise and put your armor on” (do you know what hymn that is taken from?)! 🛡️⚔️🪖
Using the “sword of the Spirit”, let’s read Colossians 4 this morning. Paul is asking for the church at Colosse to pray for the Holy Spirit to open a door for them. I love that we see the Holy Spirit’s role so evidently as He directs the comings and goings of Paul and his fellow servants. We see what the purpose of our speech should be–building up, and ministering grace. We practice Psalm 103:1-16 again today, and from the schedule we are using at The Ruffled Mango, we are writing Daniel 1:8-9.
“Trained to Comfort” is our topic for the reading from Streams in Desert–“Thou art wounded, that in the binding up of thy wounds by the Great Physician, thou mayest learn how to render first aid to the wounded everywhere”.
Tozer speaks of “God’s Gentle Whisper”–“Prayer at its holiest moment is the entering into God to a place of such blessed union as makes miracles seem tame and remarkable answers to prayer appear something very far short of wonderful by comparison.”
In Faith’s Checkbook we read about how “Faith Sets the Bow”–“Faith always sees the bow of covenant promise whenever sense sees the cloud of affliction.”
Our prayer scripture is Psalm 42:1, and we look at the accompanying song text, “As the Deer”.
