Here we are together in our little corner this morning. Let’s get started! 📖🌻☕
We read in 2 Thessalonians 2 this morning, and we get a glimpse of the confusion and deceit that runs rampant in the end times…and it feels so very near, so keep looking up, friends! We have “good hope through grace”! We practice Psalm 103:1-17 again today, and our scripture writing passage is Romans 12:6-8,speaking of unity and flourishing as we utilize the gifts we are given. Have you ever thought of “he that showeth mercy” as a gift? There is is at the end of this list today.
For today’s reading in Streams in the Desert is about “Sorrow, God’s Plowshare”–“it subsoils the depths of the soul so that we might have a richer harvest…it takes sorrow to widen the soul”. By the way, Maltbie D. Babcock was a clergyman, most well known for his text, “This Is My Father’s World”. So we have that question answered. 🙂
Tozer writes regarding “That Baby in the Manger”–he was born “vulnerable from a thousand directions” and yet was also everlasting God. Spurgeon writes concerning “The Overcomer” in Faith’s Checkbook. We will in paradise walk right by that angel with his flaming sword!
Today’s prayer passage from our Bibles is Psalm 92:1,2–let’s show forth His lovingkindness in the morning and His faithfulness every night”–praise all day–and we close with “Shortcomings” from The Valley of Vision. Let’s be “quiet in His will” today.
Have a blest day!
