Happy February 1st! A brand new, fresh month is in front of us. Let’s have a huddle in the Quiet Time Corner and begin it right! 📖🌻☕
Our Bible reading schedule (week 40) has us beginning 2 Timothy today, in chapter 1. Our scripture writing passage is from our new list on God’s Faithful Love from The Ruffled Mango: Exodus 34:5,6. We continue memorizing Psalm 103:1-19–tomorrow we’ll do a little fill-in-the-blank exercise together.
Streams in the Desert contains God’s reminder to us, that “This Thing Is From Me”–“Have you longed to do some great work for Me and instead have been laid aside on a bed of pain and weakness? This thing is from Me. I could not get your attention in your busy days and I want to teach you some of my deepest lessons.” Tozer writes about “Moral Sleep”–“There is such a thing as moral sleep. It is entirely possible to be displeasing God and grieving the Holy Spirit by being asleep morally; that is, by permitting what should not be allowed.” Some straight talk and clear exhortation from this godly gentleman today.
Spurgeon admonishes us to “Never Despair”–“When the night is darkest, dawn is nearest.” We close with a prayer scripture from our new list “Battle Anxiety with the Power of God’s Love” from His Mercy is New–Psalm 33:22. We may have great hope in our God, because He is completely and entirely, flawlessly, reliably trust-worthy!
Our portion from The Valley of Vision for today is entitled, “Passions” guarding us against allowing our emotions to overtake us. Words to heed (I Cor. 6:19,20).
