Happy Thursday! Let’s enjoy some fellowship around God’s precious promises this morning! 📖🌻☕
We read 2 Timothy 3 this morning, which tells us what the end times will look like (and it sound very familiar, doesn’t it–keep looking up!), and we are also reminded of the role that God’s word is to play in our lives–doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction. Our scripture writing passage is Deuteronomy 7:6-9 (feel free to shorten it if that suits your purposes better), and we practice Psalm 103:1-19 again together.
Streams in the Desert speaks of the “Suddenness of Change” and how we can expect trials and testings on the heels of great triumphs. Tozer reminds us today that “God Is On Our Side”–“I was reading Psalms 71 and I came to this amazing statement: “Thou hast given commandment to save me!” My heart has been warmed with that realization ever since. I believe that the Word of the living God has gone throughout all the earth to save me and keep me!”.
Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook exhorts us to remember that “He Freely Gives”–“What can the LORD deny us after giving us Jesus? If we need all things in heaven and earth, He will grant them to us: for if there had been a limit anywhere, He would have kept back His own Son.”
We close with our prayer scripture, Psalm 36:7, speaking of how excellent, precious, and priceless God’s love is toward us. Finally, we read “Penitence” from The Valley of Vision–“May I never forget that Thou hast my heart in Thy hands.”
