Happy Friday, friends! Let’s get ourselves ready to run this race called “today”!
We begin reading from Hebrews chapter 1 today–I love this book, don’t you? We practice Psalm 103:1-20 for the last time, looking toward adding verse 21 on Monday, and we are writing Psalm 86:5,15 to remind us of God’s faithful love today.
Streams in the Desert addresses the concept of faith in “Go Forward”–“The reason we are so often balked by difficulties is that we expect to see them removed before we try to pass through them.” Tozer reminds us that “We and Our Times Are in God’s Hands”–“He (the believer) is not a waif of the wide world, a foundling of time and space, but a saint of the Lord and the darling of His particular care.”
Spurgeon asks, “Are All the Children In?”–“The great Father takes pleasure in the prayers of fathers and mothers. Have we any dear ones outside of the ark? Let us not rest till they are shut in with us by the LORD’s own hand.”
We finish out this week with our prayer scripture, Isaiah 26:3 (“perfect peace”) and “Mercy” from The Valley of Vision–“O holy God, make me such a creature as thou canst take pleasure in, and such a being that I can take pleasure in thee.”
