Good morning and happy “up-n-over” day! Let’s open our Bibles together.
We are reading in Hebrews 9 this morning. More about our Great High Priest, after whom no more priest was necessary to make intercession for the people, because He did it perfectly. We practice Psalm 103 in its entirety, and we are writing 2 Timothy 2:10-13: “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
In Streams in the Desert, we read about “The Blessing of the Lion”–“The lion was God’s opportunity in disguise. Every difficulty that presents itself to us, if we receive it in the right way, is God’s opportunity. Every temptation that comes is God’s opportunity.”
Tozer discusses “Chasing Truth” in today’s devotional–“Thinking carries a moral imperative. The searcher for truth must be ready to obey truth without reservation or it will elude him.” And Spurgeon’s portion for this morning in Faith’s Checkbook concerns how “Unbroken Fellowship is Essential”–“The heart must remain in love, the mind must be rooted in faith, the hope must be cemented to the Word, the whole man must be joined unto the LORD, or else it would be dangerous to trust us with power in prayer.”
We finish with our prayer scripture, Ephesians 2:4-7, chasing away anxious thoughts by being mindful of “the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” We close with “Need of Grace” as our portion from The Valley of Vision.
Thanks for being with me this morning!
