Happy March 1st! Let’s get started with our new day, and our new month with some new resources! 📖🌻☕
We finish the book of Hebrews this morning, reading in Chapter 13. We have a brand new list for our scripture writing from The Ruffled Mango, on the topic, “Her Story, His Glory”–following the lives of various women in the Bible. Today’s passage is Genesis 2:22-25. We have a new scripture memory passage to begin today–Matthew 5:3-12, learning the Beatitudes. We learn this morning what it means to be “poor in spirit”.
Streams in the Desert states that God is in the business of “Making Straight the Crooked”, and introduces the idea that we can thank God for those hard things, for “its very crookedness taught me to cling.”
Tozer has some warnings for those “Leaning Toward Heresy” and cautions those in the Church that “to believe that God is different from what He actually is, that concept becomes heresy of the most insidious and deadly kind!”
Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook encourages us with words about “Joy for the Cast Out” and he includes these words: “How much is done for the devil in the name of God! The use of the name of Jehovah to add venom to the bite of the old serpent is an instance of his subtlety.” We must be vigilant, lovers of truth, and able to discern.
We use Isaiah 66:5 for our prayer time scripture, and close with “Peril” from The Valley of Vision. So many sober warnings for us today. “The night is far spent, the day is at hand…”
