Happy Tuesday! Thanks for joining me this morning in the Quiet Time Corner! 📖🌻☕
Today we are reading in 1 Peter 5 with some admonition, reminders, and a very sobering warning in verse 8. We are continuing to watch the life of Esther as we write Esther 4:15-17, and we are memorizing Matthew 5:3-5 again today.
Streams in the Desert speaks about “Earth’s Broken Things”–“The mighty God can make us stronger than our circumstances. He can bend them all to our good. In God’s strength we can make them all pay tribute to our souls.”
Tozer this morning writes about “Selective Scripture Screening”–“Heresy is not so much rejecting as selecting. The heretic simply selects the parts of the Scripture he wants to emphasize and lets the rest go.” Many cults have begun this way. Let’s be careful to consider the “whole counsel of God” and keep everything in its context, as good students of the Word.
Spurgeon reminds us today that “God Is A Sanctuary”–“The ark of the covenant is the Lord Jesus, and Aaron’s rod, the pot of manna, the tables of the law, all are in Christ our sanctuary.”
We conclude today’s podcast with Ezekiel 11:16 guiding our prayer time, and a portion from The Valley of Vision entitled, “Desires”–“May I value things in relation to eternity”.
