Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I mean the real Saint Patrick (not to be confused with my husband, who is also a saint in the biblical sense and named Patrick 😉 ) whom we’ll learn a little about today. Let’s get right into this! 📖🌻☕
We are reading in 2 Peter 2 this morning, including some warnings and harsh words regarding false prophets. We look at Elisabeth in our Her Story/His Glory scripture writing list from The Ruffled Mango, and we continue memorizing Matthew 5:3-5 (the Beatitudes) from the Sermon on the Mount.
Streams in the Desert reminds us to have “Patience in the Routine”–““Oh restless hearts, that beat against your prison bars of circumstances, yearning for a wider sphere of usefulness, leave God to order all your days.” Tozer tells us to be on the watch for “Revival Conditions”–“We are calling on God to send fire on our altars, completely ignoring the fact that they are our altars and not God’s.”
Spurgeon has some words of exhortation in “Fear to Fear” from Faith’s Checkbook this morning–“Be afraid to be afraid. Your worst enemy is within your own bosom. Get to your knees and cry for help, and then rise up saying, “I will trust, and not be afraid.”
In the place of our regular portion from The Valley of Vision, we close with St. Patrick’s prayer and a little info about his background (bear with me on this–it is valuable!).
Thanks for joining me today!
