Okay, friends! Homestretch for this week! 📖🌻☕
Today we’ll finish Week 47 of our reading schedule, looking at 1 John 5 together. From our Ruffled Mango list, we are writing again about Martha from John 11:21-23, and we practice Matthew 5:3-6 for the last time, adding verse 7 on Monday. Streams in the Desert speaks of “Desperate Faith” and directs us, “Now get your hymn book and sing your favorite hymn of desperate faith.” One of my favorites is “I Run to Christ”, which I’ll post today.
Tozer writes about the “Responsibility of Choice”–“Where there is no freedom of choice there can be neither sin nor righteousness, because it is of the nature of both that they be voluntary.” We were not made robots/automatons.
Spurgeon reflects upon “Refreshing Sleep” — “To have sweet sleep we must have sweet lives, sweet tempers, sweet meditations, and sweet love.” We close with our prayer scripture and a portion from The Valley of Vision entitled, “Spiritual Growth”.
