Good morning! It’s a blustery Tuesday here, but there’s “sunshine in my soul”. Let’s get started with our day! 📖🌻☕
This morning we are reading Revelation 4, moving through Week 49 of our schedule–“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come…Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” We continue memorizing Matthew 5:3-8, and we are writing Isaiah 25:4-5 as our verses on the topic of Spiritual Warfare from our list from The Ruffled Mango website.
Streams in the Desert has us considering “God’s Mysterious Dealings”–“There are times and places where God will form a mysterious wall around us, and cut away all props, and all the ordinary ways of doing things, and shut us up to something Divine, which is utterly new and unexpected, something that old circumstances do not fit into, where we do not know just what will happen, where God is cutting the cloth of our lives on a new pattern, where He makes us look to Himself.”
Tozer encourages us in “Making the Most of Opportunities”–“An opportunity may be defined as a providential circumstance which permits us to turn our time, our money and our talents to account…The foe of opportunity is preoccupation.”
In Faith’s Checkbook reminds us of the precious truth that we are “Not Forgotten”–He binds Himself to us not by what we do for Him, but by what He has done for us. We have been loved too long, and bought at too great a price to be now forgotten.”
We close looking at a hymn text by Harriet Beecher Stowe on this idea that God is ever mindful of us, and ever present with us–“Still, Still With Thee”. We close looking more closely at what “fervent” means in our prayer scripture, 1 Peter 4:8. Are we “ardent” (expressing or characterized by warmth of feeling; passionate; displaying or characterized by strong enthusiasm or devotion) today?
