Happy Monday of Easter Week! 📖🌻☕
This morning we have Revelation 8 on our reading schedule as we come to the end of our journey, reading through the New Testament in a Year. We are writing John 12-30-32 which provides us with a grounding truth as well as some reassurance and hope regarding spiritual warfare. We add verse 9 to our memory passage this week–Matthew 5:3-9.
Streams in the Desert exhorts to “Proclaim What You Have Learned”–“We are not meant to always linger in the dark, or stay in the closet; presently we shall be summoned to take our place in the rush and storm of life; and when that moment comes, we are to speak and proclaim what we have learned.”
Tozer discusses ‘The Great Physician” today–“Jesus is still saying, as He said to the man lying by the gate at the Jerusalem pool, “Do you want to be made whole?”
Spurgeon writes this morning about “Close Fellowship”–“We not only know doctrines about Him, but we know HIM. He is our Father and our Friend. We are acquainted with Him personally. We can say, “My Lord, and my God.”
We close with Proverbs 24:3 as our prayer scripture, and a look back at Proverbs 2, and then the hymn text, “There Is Wisdom That Gold Cannot Buy” by James Gray (and I’ll share some interesting bits from his bio).
