Howdy, and happy Thursday! We’ve got some great things to share today, a quiz to announce, and a challenge to fulfill this weekend that I’ll tell you about. Let’s get started! 📖🌻☕
Our reading is in Revelation 17 today. Do you feel the urgency of sharing the gospel as you read what will transpire? Islands coming loose of their moorings, mountains being reduced to rubble as the earth groans with an earthquake, the magnitude of which it has never known before. Today we are writing Ephesians 6:13-15 as we look closer at the armor of God–don’t leave home without it! And we continue memorizing Matthew 5:3-10–tomorrow we’ll do a little quiz. 🙂
Streams in the Desert reminds us this morning that God is “Abundantly Able”–“He is the God of boundless resources. The only limit is in us. Our asking, our thinking, our praying are too small; our expectations are too limited.”
Tozer exhorts us to be “influencers” for the gospel with confidence because “Our Charter is From God”–“The strain and pressure to abide by traditional religious forms all begin to pale in importance as we function in faith as the people of God who glorify His Name and honor His Presence!”
Spurgeon in Faith’s Checkbook encourages us to reach out and meet the needs of others because “God Repays”–“We are to give to the poor out of pity. Not to be seen and applauded, much less to get influence over them; but out of pure sympathy and compassion we must give them help.” And I offer a challenge to everyone today at the end of the podcast. We finish today asking ourselves who it is in our church family that needs to receive a blessing today, in accordance with our week’s verse, Romans 12:10.
And appropriately, we consider the words of today’s hymn, “Make Me a Blessing”. You may think you “know it by heart”…but consider the depth of the words without the music as I share them today. Keep me posted on how you help “someone” this week! 🙏
