Thank the God of the Universe, it is Friday! We’ve made it! Let’s finish our week out together, united around His Word.

Revelation 17 is our chapter for our Bible reading this morning, and we are writing Ephesians 6:16-18 from our Spiritual Warfare list at The Ruffled Mango, being mindful today of the importance of unity as we lock our shields together in “all prayer”, finding confidence from head (helmet of salvation) to toe (our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel) in our alliance with Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts.
We do a little quiz today with our scripture memory verses, Matthew 5:3-10. We’ll add verse 11 on Monday as we get nearer to completing our memorization of this portion of the Sermon on the Mount known as the Beatitudes, showing us what we ought to look like as believers.
Streams in the Desert comforts us with the words, “God Knows”–“How it would take the sting from many a goading trial, to see what Job saw (in his hour of aggravated woe, when every earthly hope lay prostrate at his feet)—no hand but the Divine.”
Tozer cautions us against “Mistaking Word for Deed”–“Epictetus was not impressed by eloquence or learning. It was a waste of time for the student to recite the list of books he had read. “What has your reading done for you?” he asked his students, and looked not to their words but to their lives for the answer.”
Spurgeon offers an uplifting reminder of God’s “Power to Raise”–“Am I bowed down? Then let me urge this word of grace before the Lord. It is His way, His custom, His promise, His delight, to raise up them that are bowed down.”
We close with our final time using Romans 12:10 and “Morning Dedication” from The Valley of Vision to guide our prayer time together.
See you, Lord willing, on Monday!
