Greetings, friends, and happy Tuesday! 📖🌻☕
Today we read Psalm 2, worshiping God and our Messiah as sovereign rulers of Heaven and Earth. We are writing Psalm 27:4-5, which remind us that ultimate true beauty is found in God’s presence. We practice Matthew 5:3-12 from memory once again together.
Grace for Today concerns our being “a living sacrifice”–“I say again what I have said so often before: if the fear of punishment or the promise of reward will get you to do what the love of Christ does not constrain you to do, you do not yet know the love of Christ.”
My Utmost for His Highest challenges us to consider what “Vital Intercession” looks like–“It is not likely that sin will interfere with our intercessory relationship with God, but sympathy will. It is sympathy with ourselves or with others that makes us say, “I will not allow that thing to happen.” I mention a couple practical tips to help in this.
We close with praying Ephesians 2:8,9 over our immediate families and I share a couple cautions regarding how we can mistakenly communicate that we are saved by faith, but kept by works.
Today’s Hymnary is “How Can I Keep from Singing” by Robert Lowry–“The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart, a fountain ever springing!”
Thanks for coming by today!
