Good morning! Happy “up-n-over” day! 📖🌻☕
This morning we read Psalm 3, written on the occasion of David fleeing for his life as he was pursued by his son Absalom. I give you a bit of background to help us all understand the context. We write Psalm 45:1-3 today with regard to “True Beauty”–“thou art fairer than the children of men”. We practice our scripture memory passage together, Matthew 5:3-12.
Grace for Today asks the question, “How can I live in this world for the glory of God?”–that it must extend beyond “a mere change of life-style, outward behavior and outward appearance”.
Chambers today invites us to consider “Vicarious Intercession”–“Yet we are always ready with our own ideas, and our intercession becomes only the glorification of our own natural sympathies. We have to realize that the identification of Jesus with sin means a radical change of all of our sympathies and interests.”
We close in considering our genuine sincere faith as it is lived out among our extended family, looking deeper into Ephesians 2:8-9, and we read the hymn text, “My Song Is Love Unknown”–“This is my Friend, in whose sweet praise I all my days could gladly spend!”
